Shrink Wrap vs. Bagging

Shrink Wrap vs. Bagging

Shrink wrapping and bagging are two of the most common methods for protecting individual books.

While their costs are similar, typically ranging from $0.20 to $0.50 per piece depending on order quantity, each method has its own advantages and drawbacks.

Shrink Wrap

Books are wrapped in shrinkable plastic and sealed tightly using heat.

Pros:
  • Tightly protects the book
  • Elegant and professional appearance
  • Ideal for shipping to readers
Cons:
  • Time-consuming to open and inspect
  • Cannot be resealed once opened

Bagging Wrap

Books are placed in snug-fitting plastic bags and sealed with double-sided tape.

Pros:
  • Can be opened and resealed
  • Ideal for selling at events
Cons:
  • Less tight and less elegant than shrink wrap
