Endsheet Connection

Endsheet Connection

A hardcover book has three main components: the cover, endsheet, and book block.

In this picture, you can see how they bind together. The left side of the endsheet is glued to the cover, while the right side attaches to the book block. This is the furthest the page can open, although the interior can lay fairly flat. Be sure not to place any important content too close to this connection area.

This traditional binding technique provides a strong book structure.

However, if you’re working on a children's book or one with fewer than 50 pages, we can use a simpler method called Adhesive Case Binding. In this approach, the book block is glued directly to the cover, resulting in a cleaner finish and allowing all pages to lay flat. This makes it an ideal choice for shorter books, especially children's titles.
