What is Mull

Mull, also called Super in some British regions, refers to the lightweight fabric glued to the book spine of a hardcover book. This is the reinforcement that holds the signatures together. You can see mull being applied in our hardcover casing-in production line. It appears after spine glue and before the book block is placed into the case, helping strengthen the connection between the pages and the cover.
