Most Cost Effective - 350 Double Wall

Double Wall is our most popular slipcase option. It’s cost-effective and a great way to bundle your books without overspending. Made from strong 350 gsm cardstock and securely glued together to double the thickness, this slipcase is both durable and lightweight. It folds flat for easy shipping, saving space and reducing costs. Ideal for book series, it’s an affordable solution that gets the job done.

Order Process

The slipcase must fit your books perfectly. Whether you already have your book series printed or not, the process usually follows these steps:

1. Mailing in Your Book (If Printed Elsewhere)
We need your physical book for exact measurements. If printed elsewhere, we will ask you to mail a copy to our California office.

2. Design the Artwork
Using your book’s dimensions, we’ll create a custom slipcase template tailored to your project. You can also think of the design as a cohesive whole, incorporating both the case and the spine design.

3. Making a Demo
After ordering and submitting files, we’ll create a prototype to ensure a perfect fit. A demo box is available for $150–$250.

Hardcover Slipcase for Deluxe Editions

For a premium or special edition of your book, consider our hardcover slipcases. These slipcases are crafted with greyboard, the same durable material used for hardcover book covers.

About the Construction

We have three thickness options: 2.5mm, 3mm, and 3.5mm, allowing you to choose the right level of durability for your project. You can pick from paper, faux leather, or cloth for the outer wrap. For paper, we use 157gsm glossy paper, with an option for either glossy or matte lamination.

About Shipping

Unlike our 350 gsm double wall slipcases, these hardcover slipcases don’t fold flat. Shipping them empty takes up more space and can increase costs. It’s more cost-effective to print your books with us and ship the slipcases together with the books.

Options to Make it Fancier

Enhance your slipcase with our range of finishing techniques to make it truly stand out. These are the main options:

UV or Raised UV

The coating adds a glossy shine or a textured feel to specific parts of your design. This technique works great for children's books, highlighting fun elements, and is also perfect for darker-themed books, making details stand out.

Foil Stamping

This finish gives your slipcase a classy finish by adding shiny metallic or pigmented foil to certain areas. You’ll often see this technique in religious books and fancy editions.

Embossing or Debossing

Add depth and texture to your slipcase with embossing (raised) or debossing (recessed). This technique creates a three-dimensional impression that can be felt as well as seen.

Shrink Wrap

Wrap the book with the case so it won’t fall out. This is ideal if your book is selling in a store.

Let’s Talk About Money

Adding a slipcase to your book series or special edition isn't just about enhancing its appearance. It's a smart investment that can significantly boost your financial returns. Here are some of the feedback we got from our clients.

Encourage Bundle Purchases

For a book series, a slipcase can encourage customers to buy the entire set instead of individual books.

For example, instead of selling four books separately at $15 each, it is unlikely for customers to purchase all four at the same time, even if you offer the 4th book for free. However, it will be a lot easier to sell them the bundle for 4 books at $50.

Add More Value to the Product

A slipcase enhances the look and feel of your book, giving it a more premium and exclusive appeal. That’s why many Kickstarter book projects include a hardcover slipcase for their special editions. It adds value, and customers are willing to pay extra for it.

Differentiate Your Book

Book publishing is a crowded market, and most books look the same. Making your book a bit fancier can set it apart and greatly increase sales.
